I was fascinated with the banjoleles when I first started playing, but now I'm sorry to say they are just irritating to me. I hope this statement doesn't hurt feelings, it's just a personal opinion.

I think a lot of people find them annoying! I do believe they have a purpose though. Here are the reasons I love banjolele:

1. You hear your mistakes better when learning.
2. In a group setting (like the two monthly jams I go to that are all acoustic instruments, not just uke), it has enough personality and projection to hold its own.
3. In a chatty setting like a family gathering, it cuts through enough to where those who want to sing along can.
4. In a group setting of ukes, like the strum I have coming up a week from Saturday, it's different enough to where it can "lead" the group and be easily distinguishable.
5. It's so darn cute.

I think it's one of those instruments that is better in a group than solo. Like a tuba. :)

OK, what I hear here is It's loud.

Also, I hope to come to you meeting on the 11th. Maybe we can battle to be the loudest.

As long as it stays courteous I think it should be fair game. The main thing is to keep it nice. I like to hear others' viewpoints.

Thank you Jon. You stated it much more politely than the crazy bitch inside my head that I had to hold back from posting the many retorts she frantically had re-typed several times.

Been reading posts for an hour and I'm just now on last night.

Don and Tac . . . you amaze me.

I hope it's good to be home :)

It's familiar.

It's comfy.

. . . but it sure ain't Hawaii!!

I never thought I could live anywhere but the area I do (Bay Area). Everything you could want to do is relatively close. The weather is almost always awesome. It has everything.

Where's Chin, I have scooter questions! I'm considering the Stella: http://www.acescycle.com/Products

Yes, while my husband's away I get all the toys he would normally veto. :p I'm super mature like that.

OMG! WANT! That's CUTE!

And the wheels are nice and big, so it's safer.

I wish we could have 150cc here... I'd get one in a second!

Absolutely. I can't think of anything ore productive that I could be doing.

Also, something about a rabbit. Is there a story behind this?

Some sort of tradition thing. I don't quite get it. Wikipedia has something to say about it here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit_rabbit_rabbit

Of course...Wikipedia also has something to say about toenail fungus here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toenail_fungus

And dancing the Hora here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hora_(dance)

And of course, Johnny Bravo here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Bravo

So take that as seriously (or not) as you please...

Sorry Gary,

I hated living in the Bay area. It's a much better fit for me here.
