Comprehensive Aldrine Guerrero Ukulele Lesson List

forumlogo.gif

Well, it was getting a bit tedious to dig through pages and pages of the UU homepage to find each lesson, especially for the Uke Minutes which are growing quite large in number, so I made myself a convenient list so that I could find any of them on one page. It was also a bit hard to remember what was in each of the live lessons, so I linked to them here too, in case I ever wanted to go back to them.

But I figured that I would share this list with you guys too, and maybe you could find it somewhat useful. If someone else has already made such a list, I didn’t know about it…I could have saved myself a bit of time. XD

And if I forget to update this list, a mod that can edit posts may feel free to edit it for me.

Now, I've added some picture things to make it look like not as much text. The pictures were taken by SDPNOY on the forums, at the Mo's Island Grinds show during the 2008 UU Cali Tour. You can find all of the pictures on this thread.

http://ukuleleunderground.com/2009/05/01/uke-lesson-17-1234/
Getting all artsy with the grayscale to mimic the Plain White T's music video for the song, Aldrine teaches the teen love ballad with the a slightly advanced chord pattern and strum pattern. He also teaches the intro picking and the solo part.

Stuck on You
http://ukuleleunderground.com/2009/04/04/uke-lesson-16-stuck-on-you/
A local classic by Ekolu (actually Lionel Richie, originally) is taught in this lesson by good old Aldrine Guerrero. The four-chord progression and the famous picking pattern are taught. A nice bonus lesson for all those who didn't realize that it was April first when the "Girl I Wanna Lay You Down" lesson was released.

Haha. Dude, you are putting us to shame! This should have been a separate page on the main site a long, long time ago. :uhoh: Thanks ten million times.

Better late than never.;);)

But seriously thanks Aldrine, Ryan and Aaron for all the work and time you have put into UU.

Also thanks to experimentjon for puting together this thread with links to all this information.

I agree. Kanaka916 can't do this all on his own.
As the membership grows, I think we're gonna eventually require a few more mods in different time zones just for a CYA type situation. That will be admin's call.

I think I smell a hint of moderator status for EJ?????????

Haha, I think they're good on mods now, I haven't seen any major fights or misplaced threads. I'd be a lazy mod...and a bad one, b/c I'd go in and edit profane (but humorous) things into Deach's posts. Too much stuff to read between my twitter and RSS news feeds.

In other news, I'm keeping busy by having my Bloomberg news on all the time now on my computer. MOAR INFOS. Two screens FTW.

I can't seem to sign up on www.iamhawaii.com. I tried on both Firefox and IE. I guess I'd just have to try later. Pity, cuz I was in the mood for a particular lesson. Oh well...get me to bed then. I just hafta dream of playing the uke, hihi. :p

Why did nobody point out that I spelled Aldrine's last name wrong?

I'll fix it and update the list next time I'm on UU. I would do it now, but I don't have my glasses on (left them at the dorm when I came home), and I cannot read what I am typing. I want my 20:20 back.

Really helpful, thanks!

Just updated the list, to bring it up to date, since Ryan was kind enough to launch March's lesson a few days early so we could learn it over the weekend. I also added some select Uke Got Mail lessons to the list, if they demonstrated a certain technique or chord pattern.

Enjoy.

In one of the mario live lesson videos Aldrine made reference to an earlier live lesson that he did the theme song in. I dont suppose that was recorded and is available?
