Hi,
I have a vintage Gibson Ukulele Banjo, I believe this was made in the mid to late 1940's and distributed in South Africa. I believe this is a ub-3 or a ub-2. The serial on the headstock reads F2046-88. I bought this at an estate sale as a project some years ago and I have never gotten around to having work done. The issue with it is that at some point the headstock was broken and someone did a very bad repair job on it. Also they replaced the nut with a haggard piece of wood and have added new tuners and a new bridge. The inside of the body has 2 stickers, one reads "H. Polliack & Co. LTD" (Retailer in South Africa) and then the Gibson factory sticker. The right person can definitely fix this thing up to pristine condition. It is really a beautiful piece of Gibson history. I am looking to get $800 but I am open to offers.
Thanks.
