If this weekend goes to plan, I should have this batch finished in time for Christmas shopping!

Let there be light!

Sometimes just being able to see your work can make all the difference. If you can't see it, you can't cut it. So I bought these LED tube lights and built them into a new bench area I'm building. They are extremely bright and I put three in series (with gang connectors) for a total of 4500 lumens. That's bright. Now I can really see to work. I recommend them if you are going to upgrade for shop lights. Available on Amazon, but they are not cheap at $21 bucks apiece. Brighter than picture shows.

I’ll bet it was difficult bending those sides :)

Haha, yes it was.

Actually it's several glued-up pieces and lots of bandsaw work. One time saver though is that the sides are nominally 1/4" thick, so no linings are required for the top and back. It's mostly poplar and I'm building it more for strength than for sound. Those boys play rough. If there is more interest shown in actually playing the instrument later I will build him a more refined instrument.
