Looking at the pictures and listening to you sing and play brought tears to my eyes so I would say, yeah, I like your rendition. Thanks for the sweet memories.

    Nana ka maka; ho`olohe ka pepeiao;
    pa`a ka waha.

Observe with the eyes; listen with the ears; shut the mouth.

Mahalo, friends! Kanaka, I posted the chords in the info section of the video on YouTube, and I'll post it here as well:

    [ intro: F G7 C / (x2) ]

    [F] Come back a[Cmaj7]gain [ Em7 Dm ]
I want you to stay next [Cmaj7] time [ Em7 Dm]
Cause [F] sometimes the world ain't [Cmaj7] kind
When [Am7] people get lost like [Dm7] you and [G7] me

    [F] I just made a [Cmaj7] friend [ Em7 Dm ]
a friend is someone you [Cmaj7] need [ Em7 Dm]
But [F] now that he had to [Cmaj7] go a[Am7]way
I [Dm7] still feel the words that [G7] he [Em] might [F] say

    Turn on your [F] heartlight
Let it shine wher[Cmaj7]ever you go
Let it make a [Dm] happy glow
for [G7] all the world to [Cmaj7] see
    Turn on your [F] heartlight
in the middle of a [Em] young boy's [A7] dream
Don't wake me [Dm7] up too soon
Gonna take a ride a[Cmaj7]cross the moon
    You and [F] me [ Em7 Dm]

    [F] He's lookin' for a [Cmaj7] home [ Em7 Dm ]
    ‘cuz everyone needs a [Cmaj7] place [ Em7 Dm]
And [F] home's the most excellent [Cmaj7] place of [Am7] all
And [Dm7] I'll be right here if [G7] you [Em] should [F] call [G] me

    Turn on your [F] heartlight
Let it shine wher[Cmaj7]ever you go
Let it make a [Dm] happy glow
for [G7] all the world to [Cmaj7] see
    Turn on your [F] heartlight
in the middle of a [Em] young boy's [A7] dream
Don't wake me [Dm7] up too soon
Gonna take a ride a[Cmaj7]cross the moon
    you and [F] me [ G7 C ]
[F] Turn on your [G7] heartlight [C] now
[F] turn on your [G7] heartlight [C] now

Mahalo, Stan! I was teaching at Waimea High School on Kauai when this song played a lot on the radio. Make me think of those days...
