Just got a new guitar. It's a Recording King Dirty Thirties ROH-05 000 size.
The RK Dirty30s series is oddly, a tribute to the guitars of long ago, when bluesmen could not afford the Martins and Gibsons and instead played Stellas and Harmonys.
It's a solid top and sounds quite good. Not too bassy but OK but a lot of mids and ought to make a good rhythm machine or country blues.
Action is just about right at the neck, a just a tad high at the 12th fret, but I don't play too much south of the 5th fret anyway.
I have a 000 Ventura V10, but I think a brace split as it buzzes deep inside now. I was also looking at the Yamaha FS700s, which is priced the same and seems strangely similar except for the paint. So for $200 I have a very playable beater. I might even distress it a little, but not much.
