Here's a strum I like to use sometimes. It's a downward strum with the thumb followed by a flick of the index finger across the strings.



By the way, this song hit number one in the U.S. just about 50 years ago. Ukulele doo wop!

That's a surfer uke - the long headstock is designed to be stuck in the sand while you're out catching some waves :)

Great vid btw - really gets the strum across!
 
That's a wild looking uke! Would love to hear what it sounds like alone without the multi tracking.
 
The uke is a Polk-a-laylee built in the sixties. More of a novelty uke and the sound is not the greatest. But still a fun uke to have in the collection!
 
That's a strum my Dad used long, long ago (I'm 72). It also seems popular in Italy (where he's from). I remember that song quite well. Good job.
