Hope you like my rendition of this wonderful song by New Zealand singer-songwriter Bic Runga. This video features my Ala Moana Koi ukulele, built for me by Aaron Oya.

A little allusion to a Beatles song at the end, too!

Thanks, Aaron! You made a really beautiful uke! It's sitting on my desk everyday...

Had a request for the chords. Here they are:

[ intro: Bm A (repeat) ]

And all the [Bm] stargazers [A] bloom
Throw the [Bm] stars around the [A] room
I was [Em] waiting for the [A] day
for [Bm] you to lull me [ A Bm A ]

And all the [Bm] elements con[A]spire
with shiny [Bm] things that catch the [A] eye
I was [Em] waiting for the [A] day
for [Bm] you to lull me [ A Bm A ]

chorus:
[Em] Precious, precious [A] thing
You are the [Bm] thought that makes me [F#m] sing
Wanna [Em] leave all my pos[A]sessions
It's a [Bm] rare and precious, [A] precious thing
[ Bm A Bm A ]

And all the [Bm] elements con[A]spire
with shiny [Bm] things that catch the [A] eye
I was [Em] waiting for the [A] day
for [Bm] you to lull me [ A Bm A ]
(chorus)

bridge:
And I [Em] know all I [A] need
is to [Bm] get on the [A] phone
To [Bm] get on the [A] phone and
[Bm] ca-a-a-a-all you [A]
And [Bm] ca-a-a-a-all you [A]
As clear as [Em] rain on a [A] street
It shines like [Bm] bright colored [A] stone
These [Em] things no one can [A] own
They are [Bm] fo-o-o-o-or you [A]
//: This is [Bm] fo-o-o-o-or you [A] ://

WOW!

I thought that nobody even know about Bic Runga here in the USA but me...I loved her first album, but have not kept up with her most recent stuff...

Having said that, I commend you on your choice of artist and cover of her song, and must say that this is a wonderful performance and video...

of course I am quite inspired by your latest here, since all of your previous videos are amazing to me....

Thanks for sharing! :)

Mahalo, Booli! I didn't know about her until one of my students did a presentation about her. Loved her voice as soon as I heard it. She deserves to be better known in the States. Thanks for your nice comments!
