Finally finished this Soprano Ukulele. Soundboard: Lillypilly.
Back and sides: Wattle.
Finger board and bridge:leopard tree.
Headstock laminate; Blackheart Sasafrass.
Neck: Walnut.
Oil finish
A friend of mine is a tree lopper and he brought me the Wattle, Lillipilly And Leopard tree.
I told him I would make a Uke out of the timber he brought me.

That's interesting-looking wood! I love the way the fingerboard ends, and the shape of the headstock.

Nice. I've never heard of wattle wood. Does it have another name?
I like your headstock shape too

These are Australian natives.

Wattles are Acacia's and there are lots of varieties. The floral emblem of Australia is the Golden Wattle, and is where the Green and Gold colors for Australian sporting teams also derives from.

Lillipilli's are a Syzygium. And I have quite a few varieties in my yard. Fantastic showy specimens with lots of flowers in the spring and leaves that start out pale yellow/green, change to pinks and reds as they mature, then turn to a dark green. They also attract native birds and insects. Always a good thing.

I had no idea that a Lillipilli would get large enough to make a soundboard out of. Well done indeed.

Really lovely and elegant looking uke soulman, beautiful wood matching.

Thanks all for your comments.
Thanks Allen for your input.
Ksquine. The most probable name for the Wattle is Acacia Concurrens (Black Wattle). Leopard tree is Caesalpinia Ferrea. (Brazilian Ironwood)

Thanks for the info. Maybe you guys should call it Australian Koa instead
