Thread: "Dud" note on 4th fret A string?

    I go right to the C string. It's the thickest string, and thuddy/dead notes are unmistakable when played on that string. Dead notes are usually more tolerable on the A string, so you might want to try a different brand string. Flourocarbon might help, and something known for being bright like Martin M600 strings.

    Good suggestion, Frank, it has Aquilas now so I will try some other strings on it.
