Ahhh, Those Dodgers

I have a great desire for any doping to be allowed. To create separate Olympic Games, where it would be possible to take any kind of doping. I just want to see that. How a bunch of over-pumped people (or maybe already superhumans) go to compete for medals and popularity xD Just so you don't think I'm mocking people. I've been using steroids myself since https://misterolympia.shop/ . They are good and of good quality. So it's not mocking of people!

...aaaand there they go! the slide began early this year! I thought they would make it at least to the all-star break...

Nope... the Giants just exposed the pitching the Dodgers have... Sure, Urias is injured, but he only pitches one a week... Dodgers need bullpen help NOW!

Meanwhile... Giants take 3/4 from the Padres... and now face Arizona just 3 games back... And the Giants are ready!

Prediction: Giants in first by the All Star Break...

Nope on your nope...look back at how many series they lost before SF/Anaheim. It's been a work in progress, over the the past month or so, starting before the east coast trip. Nothing to do w the giants, but yes the pitching has soured.

Clayton Kershaw just received his first cortisone shot of the year... I think he strained his back trying to twist out of that Sisters controversy he stirred up recently. No matter what he did to cause this stiffness, his yearly downslide has now officially begun. Just another first round hall of fame pitcher descending slowly over the hill... how long until he lands on the IL again is anybody's guess but seems inevitable.

The Dodgers picked up a few good players before the deadline, but they are still looking a bit flat... Oakland just might surprise them since they are looking past them right now... we'll see. Their pitching is still a weak spot, but at least Cody Bellinger has finally found himself and is back to playing like an All-Star again.

Oh wait, he's doing that for the Cubs... never mind!

Anything less than a sweep is a disappointment. I am prepared

Prepared for what? A sweep? Being swept? None of these? I guess it's best to be ready for anything...

Giants are on fire after beating the hottest team in July - Boston - three straight. And since they left (like) 30 runners on base, they are ticked off about it to boot! They are feeling like they under-performed! That one one pitch save attempt by Kenley Jansen was an amazing way to end game 2. And what the heck is Justin Turner doing in Boston? He was Mr. Dodger for such a long time I didn't think they would ever trade him... and now he's smearing that pine tar onto the back of a Red Sox jersey. I never expected that... he's played really well this year but I was glad to see the Giants knock that red chinned grin off his face this weekend!

The bummer is, the Giants have had so many injuries that every solid prospect has already been called up so they don't have anyone to trade anymore... fortunately the call-ups have all been playing amazingly well and the team is winning. But they don't have anyone left for trade bait so this is the team we are stuck with. Could be worse... Just two games out and about to send Arizona's season to an early grave. Bring 'em on!

All right, all right... it looks like there is nothing left that can stop the Dodgers from winning the NL west... UNCLE!

And the Giants are not looking like they can pull off that miracle finish with a bunch of scrappy newcomers... oh well.

Nothing left to do except see if LA can get past Atlanta in the playoffs...

Surprisingly they are on a tear... but SF is going the opposite direction. ATL series will be telling. A lot of Giants-Dodgers games left.

Actually, all those Giants-Dodgers games at the end of the season are the only reason the Giants still have any hope in the wildcard race... by then, the Dodgers are going to be resting all their stars for their playoff run... and the Giants might win quite a few of those... and could secure a wildcard spot.

I'm not sure that will helps the Giants much... they aren't beating any of the playoff contenders currently so it's a stretch to think they will win then.

But Say Hey! If you are in the playoffs you have a chance.

I expect by the last week of the season will feature a Dodgers team full of unknowns... after the roster expansion... while the rest of the wildcard contenders will all be beating up on each other.

We'll see... Giants still have a chance. But I don't see them passing the Dodgers...

Doesn't look like pennant this year...need to salvage a win vs. ATL today to avoid a 4-game sweep at home. But doesn't look like SF or AZ care to make it interesting for the division.

The question remains...

As Voran likes to say: NOPE!

One last try today... but Atlanta is in the Dodger's head now. Even if they do salvage a game today, LA is standing in ATL's shadow. A win today won't change that much...

It may be, as my interest wanes in baseball, that it is more important to me that the Dodgers lose than the Giants win...

So true... the Dodgers have replaced the Steinbrenner era Yankees as the most hated team in baseball... I think most of the country would agree with this sentiment... they win more because they spend more! And they so hate to get those pristine white uni's dirty. The Dodger's are Hollywood's team now.

BTW: Do you think the Dodgers will still be leading the postseason bidding war for Ohtani after his injury? We'll see I guess... he is still an awesome hitter and a decent fielder, even if he never throws another pitch.

*(And don't forget: That pandemic era "World Championship comes with an... well, you know... And they are damn lucky they won that game 6, because I doubt they could have won game 7 without Justin Turner, who would have needed to sit out due to his Covid illness. He was the only one who LOVED to get dirty!)
