Anyone have a Black Friday pitty patter heart for maybe a good sale?

They are signed and numbered. Have one at the frame shop getting matted and framed.
Don't signed and numbered limited edition prints usually go up in price as the edition sells out ?

I'm not sure what thread i'm posting in anymore 😵

TUS website updated with holiday deals! I really want to wait for an 'Oli, but its hard to pass up a discounted Moon Bird... an extra discounted lattice top Pono bari! freakin' drooling over the tone and responsiveness of these things, which I don't think I had on my radar too much until I saw @TimWilson post about them. The Master series Pono and lattice brace that is. Thanks Tim! I go through periods of really avoiding any of the sound samples to avoid coveting a new uke, but it's time for me and damn these sound good and the discount nice... but I wonder when 'Oli's will be in next or if there is a waitlist or what... Our patron Saint of Hasty purchases, pray for us.

I was just coming here to post the TUS news. Since someone mentioned Kamaka in another holiday thread, it's worth noting that this is the only time of year that you'll find Kamakas on sale at TUS, with a bonus 10% checkout code on top of that.

Also on sale: Koaloha, Kanile'a, Pono, and Pepe Romero, the latter of whom is another name you very rarely see on sale. This is definitely worth a look!

Haha! You're welcome! Those really, truly punch above their weight, so this is a good time to be looking!

It looks to me like there are only some of their Kamakas that are on sale prior to adding in the 10% discount. Am I not understanding the sale?
I'm guessing that any Kamaka, Kanile'a, or the other above stated brands are all eligible for the 10% discount with the code?

I'm not sure why I'm even looking, since I'm at full capacity for ukuleles. :)

Am I not understanding the sale?

I can't answer because I'm EXPLICITLY not looking. LOL I just looked at the email, paraphrased a few things that Andrew (I assume) wrote, and hustled back here to share it. I'm weak! Somebody please buy 'em all! :ROFLMAO:

Kidding aside, sorry I can't help, because I'm not kidding about not looking. :)

Fair enough! I admit to being entirely crispy at the moment, but will swing back through tomorrow to consolidate the half dozen or so threads underway. I love the enthusiasm, but yeah, getting a bit confusing. 🙂

More soon!

I’ll add that World of Ukes had a brilliant post about Black Friday (they don’t participate) and several ukulele companies responded as well.

The Uke Republic offer is the 10% off top end Ukes…the same will be true if Aloha City does so. The free shipping usually applies to any instrument in that upper end category for both stores.

It is something to think about: the ukulele specialist stores have all the overhead of inventory, retail space, staffing, and shipping (and some places include a set-up). Meanwhile, they have to compete with Amazon (I have to admit, I have to price-check, too) and any other internet retailers who likely do not offer additional services and simply drop ship from the ukulele brand’s distributor. It’s that whole thing that keeps me from retiring as a teacher and opening a ukulele store and event center.

Matt often—and I believe he plans to do the same this year—donates his profits for the day to charity, rather than lower the prices. That sort of thing is one reason why I keep returning to World of Ukes, and in fact this year I decided to follow his example and donate most of the proceeds from the Pono tenor I'm selling to charity.

Being the cheapest seller is not a viable option for specialist shops, because someone will always find a way to undercut you. When that happens, you've completely lost the reason people shopped with you.

For those in the Portland area there’s this:

Hi friends,
We're having a change of plans!
Our local Oregon Public House has closed down unexpectedly so we are no longer having an open mic.
However, we are adding LIVE entertainment here and there throughout the day Saturday and Sunday featuring local entertainment!
Our brick-n-mortar shop Starlight Ukes (Portand, Or) is being transformed into a Winter Wonderland for a weekend-long open-house!
Sat & Sun of Black Friday Weekend 10am-7pm
5-7pm: Happy Hour Nip & Nosh (feel free to bring a snack to share)
We'll have a big sale going on for ukuleles, guitars, bartones, octaves, basses, strings, straps, music charts, tuners, cases and more!
Hope to see you there!
Dani & Perry

Has anyone had a good black friday deal? LOVE to read it!!
Last year I got a nice deal on a Flight Fireball Mango baritone at Aloha City Ukes. Great ukulele.

I stopped participating in Black Friday sales when I found out that they force people to work at midnight, or earlier on Thanksgiving day. I have extended my boycott of these events to the internet.
Ouch...I have worked the last forty years on Thanksgiving and all the other dear "holidays". If I may find a BF DEAL for a ukulele, (black friday deal-ha) , then i would feel a little tickled inside. Makes all those long ours worth it. Especially when I have saved so long for something special. Let us not forget, this is a Ukulele forum. By the way, I am working tomorrow. :)
