Hi everyone,
I've been running forums since 1988, and it has never happened to me before...but it happens to EVERY sysadmin eventually, and today was my turn. In attempting to troubleshoot a database archive glitch that I'd found earlier today, I accidentally moved a backup in the wrong direction, and have overwritten everything new that's been posted in the past 10-12 hours.
Those of you who've worked with backup restoration know that it's all or nothing, and I really didn't want to do without all the stuff that had gone missing...but the price is that the handful of posts made today are gone, and will need to be reposted.
My deepest apologies if you're one of the folks who got bit by this. I'm truly sorry, and am working on building in more frequent backups, and looking into more nimble restoration options.
Please PM me with any questions!
Regards,
Tim
