Hi fellow uke players. I'm a music teacher and arranging instrumentals of my favourite songs from the 70's. Anything rock, pop rock, swamp rock, and folk rock was my obsession back then; spending summers listening to a dial radio in the trailer at the cottage and playing my guitar. I picked up an oscar schmidt OU4 last year and began teaching school students through the ukulelekids organization based in the Toronto area.

I'm always looking for decent ukulele instrumental arrangements. There are a few on youtube but we really need more instrumentals that are simple and yet sound like all the melody notes are there. I've found it's not impossible (like say Jake S.'s bohemian rapsody or James Hill's Billy Jean). I begin by adjusting the melody line of a song to fit in the 1st position and not go too high up the neck and see if the key for that doesn't have too many difficult chords to navigate. I'm about to get some of my arranging of about a dozen 70's hit tunes on video; America (Sister golden hair), CCR (Proud Mary, Who'll stop the rain... gosh there are about 7 of CCR's to list), Steely Dan (Do it again), Gordon Lightfoot (Bitter Green and more comin; I'm from Midland not too far from where this icon of the music industry still lives). I'll post links or word of where they are here when I can. If anyone is interested in having me send what hand written transcriptions of the TAB for these email me; matthewscott (at) rogers (dot) com.
Sincerely,
Blaine
