Hi Ukulele Underground,

I am having trouble learning the "chunk" technique. I play a pineapple shaped Fluke Ukulele. My biggest problem doing the chunk is that I think that I accidentally push down and bend my top (g) string, so with the chunk I hear a faint whine (or bend) of a string. I haven't been able to fix this.

Any tips?

Thanks

Just gotta practice having your palm mute all the strings I'd say. I kinda twist my hand down while I flick with my index then palm mute at same time.

You can also rotate your wrist like you would opening a door knob to bias your mute to the top two or bottom two strings that can help
