I had laid my KoAloha Opio soprano face down on the floor beside me and promptly knocked my MacBook off the arm of the chair and the corner of it put a nice ding in the back of my uke. The uppermost part of the crack is under the brace which in the Opio is perpetual, circling both sides, top, and bottom. I think that's what saved it from collapsing in any more than it did. The crack goes all the way through and can be felt from inside the uke.

This isn't new damage, it happened several years ago and hasn't gotten worse, but I'd still like to get it repaired. I live in Suwannee county in north Florida. Are there any luthiers on here in the general area that would take on this repair?

Here’s a note on filling cracks with coloured epoxy.
Thanks. That looks easy enough. Is this how a repair shop would fix it? No attempt to move the wood back into place, just a matter of filling in the gap with glue? I didn't know what the process would be, but imagined there would be some steaming, moving of wood, gluing, and clamping. I suppose gluing is all it needs to make it stable.

If you hop onto US19, you can be at Donna Loprinzi's workshop in 3-4 hours. Stop at Weeki Wachee Springs on the way down. Swim in the Gulf. Catch a Rays baseball game at Tropicana Field. Drive a couple of hours south and catch the ferry to Key West. Party there until Donna has completed the repair. Go pick it up. Head north. Stop in Tarpon Springs for Greek food and some bouzouki music. Then drive home a happy man.
P.S. Don't forget and leave your ukulele in the bar.

In my humble cracks like that are best filled with a colored glue or wood dust and ca so they won't continue to split as time goes on.
