If you hate, I'll change it back, but I think you'll like it. :)

What I did was change the size of the default YT embed to HD. It'll look exactly the same on mobile, which is why I'm asking for feedback from desktop viewers. That said, I don't have a tablet, but know that a lot of you do, so I'll ask some of you to check it out on your tablets and let me know what you think,

But here's what I'm talking about, using as an example a trailer for Aldrine Guerrero and @anaka doing Craig & Sarah's Backyard Concert:

Interesting - it doesn't make a difference on my Firefox (so I was a bit confused about what the big deal was), but it does on Chrome (I'm on a Chromebook).

I like it (in Chrome)! Looks great!

Looks great on:

HP Desktop Windows 10 Pro V22H2

Chrome Version 111.0.5563.111 (Official Build) (64-bit)

<edit>
Surface 3 Pro w/same OS/browser as above:
Works great!

It's nice and big on my Samsung Android 10.4" tablet. I like it mucho!

Thanks for letting me know!

I just stumbled across a page with the old configuration in one of the themes we're still developing, and I was really startled by how out of place it felt to see something so small! We're HD now, baby! :ROFLMAO:

I still have to figure out why it's not showing the right size on Firefox, but we're getting there!

Mine are all either HP or Dell, so I'm glad to hear that it's working for you there, too!

Thanks again to everyone letting me know! Keep those reports coming!

Looks fine on desktop FF frame rates 720 and up. Nice work!

Looks fine on my iMac. OS 10.15.7 Catalina. Firefox 112.0.1
Any chance the video controls for YT videos can be linked as well. I listen to a lot of podcasts at 1.5 or 1.25 speeds. Or a button that will allow me to watch on YT instead of embedded in a post?

Good question! I just paste and let the system do the parsing, but I completely agree -- I rarely listen to anyone at 1x anymore, so I'll look into this for you!

Corey and Kalei's solos must be even MORE mind blowing!

Looks great on my MacStudio M1 Max, Ventura 13.3.1, Safari 16.4.

I have an older chromebook and it looks the same.

The speed controls are under the "cog" icon in the lower right. There are quite a few controls there, but speed is one of 'em. :) Using the video in the first post of this thread as an example (and featuring our own @anaka!), you can see all the options you need there.

Then right next to that cog icon is the YouTube icon -- click on that to be taken to that video on YouTube...but no need to do that if you can control the speed from here, right? LOL

Interesting... tried it on my Surface Pro and it looked small using Chrome. I tried it in Edge and it was larger.
Then I noticed that Edge was using the default theme and my Chrome was using Sky.
I switched to the Underground theme in Chrome and voila! Larger video! Looks great!!

I don't use my Surface often and the video size doesn't bother me, but just wanted to share that bit of data.

Yes, for sure, ONLY in Underground for the moment. I wanted to test it in the (current) default theme for now, and only then move it into other themes. Not that I've done that yet! But I will.

(I've mentioned this elsewhere, but we're very close to introducing a dark theme that we'll have folks bang on before we make it official. These larger embeds for both videos and photos are among the things we need to merge before we turn it loose into the wild.)

Additionally, I only made this change on desktop. There are too many variables for tablets, so for now, I'm treating them as mobile devices. It's easy enough to make the videos full screen if anyone wants to see the videos larger, and I don't want to break pages where I'm guessing at the size they're displaying. Better to be conservative on what I'm asking them to do. :)

Like the speed control. Pitch doesn't change. Could be useful.... glad it's there.

YT's speed controls are vastly underrated! I really like 'em! I tend to listen to song tutorials at .75 speed, and most other stuff at 1.5 or 2x. You can definitely hear the pitch change at .5 (sloooow), but otherwise, it's actually very easy to listen to. Highly recommended!
