Drilling a big hole in my ukulele...

I'm starting to get "cold feet". It's not that I'm incapable of doing a good job, I love my ukulele and once I do it, there's no going back...

Brian Griffin has a step by step way to cut a sound hole on the side. You could search his blog or message him.

Do it!

My experience is that is will make the sound louder... for you, the player, anyhow.

My example: a Luna concert that I bought with a forklift hole punched into it. Of the several Lunas like it in my classroom, this one sounds best.

Not suggesting you use a forklift to make the hole though... just saying that I think it's a good idea, and that I'm considering the same idea with my Fluke tenor... I guess you can order a Fluke from the factory this way now.

But I have a Foredom flex shaft tool I use for lapidary work. Sounds like a no brainer...

And what the heck: Just put a new set of strings on while you are at it... You deserve a fresh set as a reward for your bold decisiveness...
