Mahalo!

Willkommen Paul. Viel Spaß! Put English on your "things to learn" list. :D

Willkommen Paul!

Viel Glück beim Ukulele-Unterricht, aber zeigen Sie uns ein Bild Ihrer Ukulelen? MBU bedeutet mir nicht viel...

Grüße aus Belgien!

Welcome!!!

Since the exchange in the community takes place exclusively in English, I send you my “Hello from Germany” and the following threads for better understanding in English:

I have been a member of the UU family since October 2023. So not really new, but I had to get my bearings first, as the medium of chat forums is completely new to me.

I have been retired since 2023 and until then I had never thought about actively making music. When I asked myself how I would spend my new-found free time, I came up with the idea of learning to play a musical instrument and since March 2024 I have been a student at the local music school. And it had to be the ukulele because its sound conveys pure joy of life and its handy size makes it a good companion.

I was very lucky to be able to buy a tenor-sized MBU from 2009 for a very reasonable price. A short time later, I added a concert MBU from 2008. Three weeks ago, I also bought a German tenor ukulele from Anton Müller. I am making slow but steady progress and I am very happy about every little success. I am excited to see where this journey will take me and who I will meet on it.

I am looking forward to the many experienced like-minded people on this UU platform, the exchange and the inspiring suggestions...

Mahalo!

Welcome to the UU Forums, Paul. Your ukuleles are gorgeous. What lovely companions for your musical journey!

Willkommen! It's great to have a German speaker here. I'm at the other end of the world, in NZ, but I speak some German. Do you know the podcast Der hüpfende Floh? It's one of my favourite uke podcasts. If you have recommendations for other German-language uke content (podcasts, Youtube, etc.) I'd be very happy to hear them! I'm a fan of Charlotte Pelgen too - seems you have a good uke scene over in Germany!

Hello, thank you very much for your welcome. I‘m really new in the ukulele scene and that‘s why I don‘t know any podcasts and especially not „Der hüpfende Floh“ and Charlotte Pelgen. So, thank you very much for your recommendation for german podcasts. 😉 I‘ve listened to them and I must say that they are really interesting and Charlotte Pelgen sounds amazing. If I‘ll get any informations about other german podcasts I will let you know, ok? My experience agrees with your note that we have in Germany a very well uke scene. That makes it easy for me to get any informations I need all around the ukulele. And what I realized is that UU is a perfect comunication plattform for all ukulele enthusiasts all around the world. That‘s really exiting for me and I hope it will go on this way. Let‘s stay in contact. Mahalo and aloha. 😎🤙
