I'm Donna, representing the heart and soul of UKE Republic. Now, don't let my newcomer status fool you—I might be new to this forum, but the world of ukuleles is practically in my DNA, thanks to my husband, Mike, who's been a part of the UU family for quite some time. Our journey in the ukulele universe began back in 2007, and here we are, on the cusp of celebrating our 16th year in the business through our online shop, coupled with a solid 13 years of thriving in our brick-and-mortar store.
Our little enterprise is a true family affair, with Mike and me steering the ship and our talented eldest son, Ian, lending his hands and expertise in our shop. Fun fact: Back in the day, when ukuleles were starting to strum their way into people's hearts with the interwebs, we were among the pioneers, proudly offering ukuleles exclusive to our store (on the mainland, no less!) and pioneering the concept of free setups—following in the footsteps of the renowned Music Guy Mic.
But enough about us! I'm here to dive headfirst into the vibrant ukulele community, share exciting insider news straight from the sources, and, of course, keep you all in the loop about the fantastic events we have in the pipeline in our area of the world. I hope to meet ya'll in person soon! Happy Strummin'!

Nice to meet you, Donna.

I've had a few interesting conversations with Mike, and not too long ago got a Leolani Moon Ebony from him.

Tell him Kurt from Schenectady said hello, and I look forward to seeing you on-line.

Welcome, Donna.
Years ago I complimented Mike on the photography on your store site. He assured me it was all your expertise on display.
Wonderful photos, and very enjoyable to look at.

Hi Donna, Welcome to the UU Forum. We're thrilled to have you as a part of our community.

It's a fun place to hang out and enjoy the ukulele universe.

You and your company have been big contributors to spreading the joy of ukes. Thank you.

Enjoy the Forum.

Welcome, Donna. Uke Republic is my go to for Living Water strings.

Hi there, Donna. I actually met Mikenin person when I visited the store back in the early spring on a trip through GA. I loved the shop and that building you’re in is really cool.

Welcome Donna! I've had the pleasure of meeting you several times at TBUG.

Donna, I admit being mildly embarrassed that I have yet to visit Uke Republic. Though, as the proverbial crow flies, I'm only around around an hour away from UR, we're on opposite arcs outside I-285 (for all unfamiliar with the area, that's the Atlanta Perimeter which completely encircles the city, as accidentally learned by Dominican-born former Braves pitcher Pascual Perez back in 1982).

Driving distance is admittedly a flimsy excuse but it's my story, it's a good story and I'm sticking to it. Full disclosure: I haven't shopped for ukes at any other brick & mortar establishment and UR always comes to mind when I'm in the vicinity of Truist Park. As many have noted, your photography makes UR's website a pleasure, and Mike's great video clips with specs and sound samples are always fun and helpful.
