Last weekend the first ALUHA (Allgäuer Ukulele Happening) took place in south Bavaria, Bad Hindelang.
Armin Gross and Hardy C. Lugerth created an outstanding event. Of course it would not be what it is without the wonderful uke folks at all.
Armin is running an old hotel in 4th generation and is Ukulele player and enthusiast. Hardy is an important supporter of the uke scene and also Player, networker, autor, teacher and collector (vintage ukes).
We had Charlie Fischer and fingerstyle player Patrick Ranft, Elisabeth Pfeiffer and Ukulelezaza (Remco Houtman-Jansson) with Sage Harrington and Charlotte Pelgen (Moon Berries) & Peter Jung (as part of "The Bad Mouse Orchestra") on saturday's concert stage.
I also played an unexpected Swing rooted set (must have been the influence jamming with all of them the night before and because I also love that Genre a lot).
Here two clips from that:
1st:
"Iso Blues" dedicated to Iso Herquist who could not take part (original piece with some sloppy starting)
2nd:
And a second snippet jamming with Peter Jung on Martin guitar ("The Bad Mouse Orchestra" and other projects) jamming Duke Ellington's "C Jam Blues" quite spontaniously...
What a blast that all was.
