When it suddenly goes BANG! and some, if not all, of the piece goes flying in random directions around the shop, certain four-letter words seem to leap from my mouth.

The third picture down, I though bigfoot was building the uke.

Bigfoot, not inventing but greatly innovating the wheel.

Some more wood turning squeezed in between working on uke projects. A laser-engraved pen shown with a segment of the Hawthorn branch from which it was turned, and a lidded pot from spalted Black Cherry, Sweet Cherry, and Black Walnut.

Very cool creations! I sometimes feel bad when i see interesting spalting or flamey wood patterns while splitting firewood. But their warmth makes me feel better.

I have several very nice slabs of spalted Silver Maple stickered and drying, ready to be further cut into a ukulele body. A project I plan to start later this year, it's some of the nicest spalting I've ever seen.
