Aloha!
What a beautiful uke!
How certain are you that you don't ship to sayyy, Germany? 🤔
Mahalo,
Jan

I've had interest from places outside of the UK and while I would prefer UK only, shipping overseas is not completely out of the question. I want to just wait a while and see if there is local interest first. As already mentioned, trade for a high end Tenor, Super Tenor or another Baritone is also an option.

wish you'd ship to Seattle...if you ever did, when it got here, would the D string be on the right side of the neck?

It is currently strung for a right handed player. I wish I knew why it was so hard to sell second hand ukuleles in the UK. I've seen here and elsewhere that some great and rare instruments at less than half the full retail price get offers from everywhere but the UK. People only seem to trust SUS when buying pre-owned in the UK and they don't buy back anymore, only offer trades. It feels like the market has shrunk here in the last few years, certainly for high end instruments.

Don't want to derail your thread, but found that an interesting observation as someone who is much more aware of what goes on in the guitar market than in the uke market.

Wonder if it's just that it would have been much more straightforward to make/accept an offer from mainland Europe a few years ago?

The arrival of really good mid-price brands like the Rebel and Millar in the UK must have made some difference, but SUS always seems to shift the top-end ukes that come in, and they don't often reappear for sale in the used section or on eBay, Reverb etc. I'd assumed there was a small pool of serious collectors in the UK hoarding them all, but maybe I'm underestimating the amount of international business the shop does post-Brexit.

Everything you say here is spot on I’m afraid.

Not just the UK, EU too since I moved... I'm done with my UAS and buying more ukes after I sell what I'm selling now because it's just ridiculously hard and you end up losing a lot of money. I don't know why either, there's plenty of ukulele players around so you'd think the market would be easy 🤷‍♂️

Apparently the cedar top variant is a rare custom jobbie.

Sound sample starts at 6m 21s.
