Missing Soprano

Of course, one option is to make a larger hole in the center, which incorporates the current one and install a larger marker in its place.

No, I agree. Personally, I wouldn't touch it!

The legend of the '1mm Timms' continues....
OK- I bought this Bruce Wei ukulele and one of the fret markers is off by 1mm... Do you all think I should return it?

You should probably donate it as such a flaw will keep you awake at night and may lead to mental illness. I'll PM you my address. It's the least I can do

Thread bumped up .... 'cos a package arrived to day marked RETURN TO SENDER ..after 10 months since it was posted it turned out to be this missing soprano uke from last October ... the original label with the correct address to the USA still attached.... No explanation offered... parcel unopened and contents still in pristine condition.
I'm amazed. 😧

That's crazy.

Years ago I ordered a large piece of quartz rough from a reliable seller on ebay. The item never arrived and I tracked it to a local "unmanned" sorting office less than twenty miles from my home. Because the office was "unmanned", I was not allowed to go there to pick it up, per usps. What a waste.

Wow!!! Glad it got back. This was the 1mm off uke right?

I'm confused, not so much by the timing as by which person was "sender" in "Return To Sender". As clearly described earlier in this thread, a UU member purchased this uke at eBay auction as is traditionally the case with all Ken's masterpieces. Soon after taking delivery, the buyer reached out to Ken and sought to exchange the uke because one of the fingerboard position dots is slightly out of line. In turn, per the same buyer's prior post in this thread, Ken immediately complied by shipping a different uke without any position dot flaw.

So, did the unhappy buyer simply write "RTS" on the same box in which the rejected uke arrived, expecting it to be promptly delivered back to Ken, or did Ken provide that buyer with a return shipping label which the courier service deemed somehow deficient/ out of line?

What’s happened is that Ken replaced the uke for the eBay buyer and put this uke up for sale which I promptly jumped on. Then the package never showed up and Ken sent me another uke (god bless him, he is amazing) at the discount price. Then the uke came back to him.

Meanwhile, this particular uke is now famous!

And now you know...the rest of the story. ~PH
