If a strap has an adjustment slider, which end of the strap does one attach to the tail button?
Ok, here is another simple strap question

I attach to both guitars and ukuleles the way you have shown in the photo.
That way the adjustment buckle is not on my chest nor rubbing on the lower bout of the instrument.

I attach my adjustment slider to the bottom on all my string instruments.
Yep, that's how I attach mine. Slider towards the bottom.
When I first started with the ukulele, I tried it both ways and decided I preferred to have the single layer up towards the headstock and the doubled up end at the tail.
This was confirmed when I bought a strap that had a longer end on the slider end. It's longer to cradle the butt and come away without having the fitting rubbing against the guitar's body.
I use guitar straps on my tenor ukuleles. I prefer the 2" wide strap on my wide bony shoulders. It distributes the weight a littler better for me.
