Please, somebody buy this

Does anyone know why they stopped making the Light Birds?
I think it was a limited edition only at WOU a few years ago as @Eggs_n_Ham indicted. Before moonbirds and Anuenue became popular in the US. They also had the limited edition Cedar birds at the same time.

New model from Anuenue. It looks like a very well made instrument. While it has some modern elements, it still has elements of the traditional soprano sound. Nicely done

OMG! I emailed aNueNue some months ago and asked if they considered a Singer soprano line! Yikes it so gorgeous!

I just drooled all over my computer.

Andrew Kitakis from TUS is in the process of launching a new 'ukulele brand called 'Oli and they're going to auction the first prototype for the Maui Wildfire relief efforts! It's creating a bit of a UAS itch at the moment, but I haven't seen a listing to see if it might be at all scratchable. Here's a first look on their most recent podcast...

The auctions are Sept 16, in conjunction with Craig & Sarah's livestream benefit. See the Maui thread for link to that one (and others). 'Oli is gonna be a good line- slimmer/wider neck, custom uke logic strings, other appointments.

Andrew is a good man, donating all the proceeds to Maui relief... even that prototype 'Oli from his personal stash. A bit different than another retailer donating $50 if you buy their signature model....but I guess that's better than nothing.

Those went quickly. Both are gone...
Re: Maple/Cedar double top wood. Very interesting take on "top tuning"...

I think I heard someone say it added durability for people that are less than delicate with these small wood instruments. I've often wondered how many an uke has been sat on, dropped, etc; "oops, I didn't see it over there", boisterous kids, pets...

Reminds me of one of my first custom tenors, 2005, asking the luthier to make it just a tad "heavier"... that was before we started calling light and loud tenors "cannons". Actually the volume comes out very nicely and its one that will have no trouble being handed down in perpetuity. Luthier William King described the tone of the long scale tenor in a rare mahogany as "ineffable".

I thought I posted this earlier but don't see it. Hope it's not a duplicate.

I think you did post this earlier but it disappeared. There were a couple posts that seemed to have done that yesterday; there were multiple threads that showed as having new posts but when I clicked on them there was nothing new. Strange.

Yup, you are not imagining things. There was an issue that Tim explains here. Some stuff was lost, some was recovered, lessons were learned... We're moving forward....

Basically, whoops, and sorry, and thanks for your patience!!

Wow that brought tears to my eyes...what masterful musicians...and a beautiful instrument...

Anyone else have waaay too much fun spinning these ukes around on their site? 😁

On a separate note, the 'Oli auction is up now on TUS, ending on the 27th. Go get it for us and Maui!!!

Oh dang, I misunderstood what they said during the podcast. I though this was going to be a raffle, which honestly I think would generate a lot more money for Maui!
