Based on my longstanding personal experience with both varieties of “pate’-type” meat products, I’m able to confirm that SPAM is quite different from bologna. Happy to go into detail but, in general, bologna is generally distributed in slices much the same as cold cuts such as salami and cappy.Interesting! You know, I don't think I've ever eaten Spam.
I have eaten bologna before though. I presume it's similar, if not the same.

Spam also comes in all kinds of crazy flavors (jalapeno, hickory smoke, teriyaki, Portuguese sausage, the list goes on...) and varieties (dip, singles, etc.), sometimes only available in Hawaii.
As to density, bologna is to SPAM what Vienna sausage is to Italian Sausage.
Actually……I wrote a poem called “Ode To Spam” that I may have posted at some point in the past nine months. It’s intended to be accompanied by the tune from “The Caissons Go Rolling Along”. (At least that’s what I had in my head at the time).Don't forget Figgy Pudding Spam! This was a topic of multiple recent episodes of the Ukulele Underground YT livestreams featuring Brittni Paiva. It's a crazy story -- some anonymous fan sent Aldrine a couple of cans of this holiday-themed limited edition flavor, and Brittni had picked up some on her own, but neither had worked up the courage to actually try it yet. LOL

So over the course of a couple of episodes, they basically talked each other into it, and here's the culmination. In case the embed has gone astray, you're looking for about the 45 minute mark for Brittni and Aldrine to share the story, and they start talking about the actual experience of eating it at around 52 minutes.
This is verging on poetry! LOL Well-observed and perfectly stated!
