Festival Silver Creek International Ukulele Carnival, August 17-20, 2023

You're the first Minnesotan I've run into here so far. Hopefully someone in the forum will go, but I can't make it either. I knew I should've moved to Two Harbors instead of south! They do have a ukulele group there and in Duluth. Nice to meet you. mjh42!.

I hope you have heard of the Twin Cities Ukulele Club. I saw in another post that you said you were up north.

Don't know why the organization has two ways to get the information but here are both. I do know the group is under the umbrella of the Minnesota Bluegrass Old-Time Music Association. There is a good fall event in Plymouth, MN. This year into early November.

There is a hosted jam in Emily, MN during the summer.

My mother in laws cabin in not too far from Emily but I have not made the time to go to the jam. It's on Saturday's I think.
Hope you are enjoying playing your Klos. I have looked at, handled, and played a few, they are nice. I'm pretty set with instruments for the time being.

I played my Magic Fluke Concert a bit this evening. I'm thinking new strings might be needed soon. Seemed to lack a little punch and sustain.

Enjoy!

Thanks so much for this info! I'll certainly check it out. Unfortunately, I have a hard time (mentally) visiting the metro area. It's like a war zone on the freeways. I grew up in north Minneapolis, but I can't take it there anymore.

I have really loved my Klos. I just got a brand new Mr mai mm-t delivered yesterday. I'm surprised at the difference! It's very quiet compared to the Klos, but the strumming feels magical and I can't figure out what the difference is. It was so quiet I almost put it back in the box to return it, but as I kept on I became mesmerized by it! I can't even explain it. I love it though, and was excited to get up and work with it again today. Even so, I still love my Klos.

I'm in Pine county now, but I am on the wait list for a senior building in Two Harbors right on the lake. They have a ukulele group and I think Duluth might have two of them!

Thanks , Michael, and have a great day!
