So, I just opened up this uke, and it is F#)(N perfect! The finish, the detail work--fantastic. Also, in person this looks more "natural" and perhaps a bit less over the top than in pictures (it looks great in pictures). But the grain of the wood balances out the intense pattern, and it has a far more textured, nuanced presence. It has been traveling from warm to 40 degrees, so no judgment on the sound, the first few strums are gangly and warm, with a surprising base response.

Thank you so much for a heirloom uke Brad (hopefully my kids can wait 40 years, knock on wood).

The only problem now is, I think Brad is so busy that I may not get back on his list for a Style 2 for a while

Wow, that's an incredible instrument! Congratulations!

I'm on the list for a Wunderkammer in about a year and a half, and you're seriously giving me inspiration for a Style 3 of my own.

Yes, I know a sound sample is needed--I am not so set up for such yet . I can tell you that after a bit of time settling in, it is opening up in few different ways. The base response has gotten deeper--really nice. It has also gotten a bit core bell like too, paradoxically. It is really lovely sounding and has led me to be willing to move on from my KoAloha soprano.

Also good news (for my compulsive uke buying)--I got on Brad's list again for a Style 2. This one is going to be from ulu/breadfruit purchased from Bob at Pegasus Guitars (and ukes). A super amazing set--it apparently has a slightly warmer sound than 'hog. Fun!
