I picked up this old Washburn ukulele at an auction recently and trying to find out more about it. It is a Model 1915, Style 1715 with flamed mahogany and has a very old hardshell case. Besides a very small hairline crack by the bridge, it is in excellent structural condition which is amazing for its age. I am wondering if it was refinished a long time ago as there is finish on the fretboard and bridge. There is not a lot of information on these online or a lot of examples to compare to. It seems like they were made in the 1915-20 range but not sure. Does anyone know more information about this model such as the year, and who made it for Washburn? It seems to be very different from the Lyon and Healy Washburns made just a few years later in the mid 1920’s. I am including pictures in some different lighting to capture the figure in the wood. Thanks in advance for any information!

Interesting find. I do find myself increasingly scanning auctions and visiting Junk Shops just in case.
Does the fretboard finish flush with the top?
I cant quite see from the photos.

Awesome find! That is a good looking uke! Aaron Keim at Beansprout might have some info. 😎👍
