Very nice, I love highly figured wood. One of my first tenor ukes 10 years ago was quilted maple. I recently had Bruce Wei in Vietnam make me a spalted maple tenor uke (waiting for a set of Worth browns), and I ordered Burma golden camphor burl wood veneer to put on one of my bass ukes.
Was that hard rock maple? The Western quilted maple that I have tried a couple of times was stunning, but the wood was soft and bordered on being floppy. I would not use it again. I've never handled any Eastern quilted maple. Just curious.
