For those of you who use the Daily Ukulele books at jams, AND are not part of the Apple iPAD universe*......have you found good legible E versions for use on PCs? I have the Kindle versions of both on my laptop, but the quality is pretty poor, and they are not very easy to read. Doesn't anyone sell a good quality PDF or ePUB version of these?

(*Apparently the E versions available from Apple books are quite good, but that doesn't help us PC users.)

Is that the "Ibooks" versions you're referring to? It appears you can view them on a windows pc if you install Itunes on the pc. You then authorize the device through itunes to read the ibook.

I've never heard of one. We use Onsong, and each song has to by hand typed in. Have you ever used Songbook for android?

Well for single chord charts a few of us use Mobile Sheets, which works just fine. I suppose for the Daily Ukulele books one could scan each page and enter them separately, but what a lot of work!

The Apple Books version of The Daily Ukulele may be clean but it's not set up for iPad. There is no index that will jump you to the song. So what if you want to get to song 158? Page, page, page... I've always wished they would do a PDF of the books but I guess it would be to easy to share around. I'd love to carry it on my iPad.

Really? That's a shame. The Kindle versions I have each have an index with hot links making it a snap to get to a song. I just wish the images were a bit sharper once you get there!

Oh my mistake, I thought you had an ipad or apple device. Sorry. There are sites online that will convert a kindle book to pdf but I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for either.

I've tried those conversions of Kindle books, but the result is quite disappointing - like trying to read a book using the wrong eyeglass prescription. But then, the Kindle book isn't very good to begin with.

I purchased a couple of those in Google Play Store, which works well for me, but I don't jam with them. Reading the books in the Chrome browser works very well, only I don't believe it will stop your screen from shutting down to save power, so you may want to adjust those settings on your PC to make sure your screen doesn't blank mid-song. https://play.google.com/store/books/details/Jim_Beloff_The_Daily_Ukulele_Songbook?id=7DnlEXXhNpIC

I see you can purchase a (cloud-based, requires internet connection) e-book direct from the publisher, Hal Leonard at https://www.halleonard.com/product/viewproduct.action?itemid=1018204

And another option would be to get the individual songs from SheetMusicDirect.com at https://www.sheetmusicdirect.com/Search.aspx?query=The Daily Ukulele ...expensive if you wanted all of them, but they also have a subscription model which would give you all-you-can-eat access to everything on SheetMusicDirect.com (again via cloud access using their web-based app etc,) for a monthly fee. I use SheetMusicDirect.com a lot myself, but usually to purchase individual song PDFs which I can load into MobileSheets (an app available on PC, Apple or Android devices) or print off; it's handy to have everything I've purchased in their app too. I haven't tried their subscription service.

I didn't know about the versions from the Google Play Store.
1) Do these versions have an index with hot links to go directly to a song?
2) Are they PDFs or ePUBs?
3) How is the quality of the print? The Kindle versions "work" well, but the resolution is very poor.

Thanks!

1. Yes there's a table of contents so you can click through there to any song.
2. I can't tell you how Google actually store them (you view them online), but you can export them as either ePub or PDF, albeit 'protected' so you can only view them using an Adobe application called "Digital Editions". I've done that in the past, but it's a right pain if I recall correctly and unlikely to be worth it.
3. I reckon pretty good, probably equivalent to 300dpi, but do take a look yourself and see what you think. You can view a 'sample' without purchasing. See: https://play.google.com/store/search?c=books&q=The+Daily+Ukulele
