Song Help Request Kitto Mata Itsuka - Depapepe

I really love this song, and have always wanted to learn how to play it. Given that I am such a newbie, however, I have no idea how to play this.

I found this ukulele cover on youtube. It sounds easy enough. But still cannot follow his playing.

I guess my general problem is that I do not know when to play which string to make it sound not just like playing a single-note melody. (I don't even know how to call this technique. Harmonic or rhythm??)

A tab of this song or any suggestion on how to play melody with harmonic (or rhythm?) would be much appreciated it.

Wow, this is a great piece but very difficult for a beginner. Try to follow the guy watching it over and over (the uke vid). It would be a long process to tab it out for you. To start with he has his uke tuned to F#,B,D#,G#. Half step down from standard tuning. Go to http://www.get-tuned.com/online_ukulele_tuner.php to help with tuning. Then the guy only plays the bottom 3 strings for most, or all, of the song...I didn't watch the whole thing. But this is so pretty I think I'll learn it. Thanks and good luck!

I finally can figure out the intro part. But as you said, it is very difficult for a beginner. So, I will keep watching the video and tabbing it out myself.
