Full disclosure ... the soundsmith is a gem. The cordoba tenor is a good solid instrument, but the soundsmith concert is excellent for the price.

I seem to be having trouble sending messages. I have 3 uke's posted on fleamarket ... The soundsmith concert is by far the best for the price ... solid woods in your budget.

I didn't see this post earlier, but I've been amazed at the quality, sound, and value from Koa Kalane. I haven't played a tenor of theirs yet, but the concerts are quite lovely and may feature my favorite neck of all the ukuleles I have owned or reviewed. As you are from New Jersey, have a plan to humidify your solid ukulele (whatever the final choice) when the fall arrives.
