The Nantwich N'Ukes are pleased to be running another ukulele weekender again that was so much fun last year.

A totally informal (and FREE) event designed to get players together for a bit of fun. Other groups and solo performers will be able to book slots on the two days to do a turn, and also expect plenty of jam alongs.

on the Saturday night, the N'Ukes are performing a full gig in the pub.

All welcome!

Sorry dude - you are still welcome! Loads of fun players up here in NW. Hoping for Chonkinfeckle, perhaps Ken Middleton, and who know who else.

Oh, of course, the N'Ukes!

Some more details as had a few questions

1. The event is totally informal and free. There are no 'acts' as such - it's a get together for players who themselves are intended to be the acts. We will kick off about 12.00noon each day, and solos or bands / clubs will get opportunity to book a slot on a roster for one or more performances. That said, we are hopeful some well known faces on the UK circuit may pop in and do a turn - you never know!

2. We will also be producing an easy songbook nearer the time for those beginners who dont want to perform on their own to join in with a mass jam - probably one each on the Sat and Sunday

3. Due to planning restrictions, there will be no amplified music on outdoor stage - it's only a small garden though, so totally acoustic outdoors. The N'Ukes gig in the pub on the evening will be electric though.

4. The camping is right next door to the pub and very cheap (book direct with the pub). We expect some informal strumalongs on the mornings around the tents (and - for those of a nervous disposition - at night time after the pub closed....!) The camping element is intended to really bring players together, though of course if you just want to drop in for one of the days, thats just fine.

5. For campers - the pub does nice lunch and evening meals, but not to my knowledge, breakfast - so that is up to you on the camping stove!

More details nearer the time, but we expect, if anything like last year - for it to be a lot of fun. Oh, and the beer in the pub is great too!

Cool update on this.

Only a couple of weeks to go now, and Mary Agnes Krell has been working hard on getting a raffle sorted in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. We are blown away by the generosity - we have a handmade Rob Collins Uke as a star prize, handmade kazoo from Doc Kazoo, a SUS brand uke from Southern Ukulele Store and goodie bags from Ohana and Ken Middleton. Chonkinfeckle have donated some CD's and Ivy Arch a handmade uke gig bag.

What's not to like? Great charity too. All details now on this page http://www.gotaukulele.com/p/nukefest-2013.html

Last call for this and some updates. 20-21 July (this weekend!) and despite another club hosting another event and sending invites to our guest list (classy eh?) we won't be put off.

Expecting hundreds. We also can announce local band Ooty And The Cloud are opening for The N'Ukes on the evening, and Ken Middleton has donated some special edition N'Ukefest branded Living Water Strings to the charity raffle!

Hope to see you there (it's a very pretty location so worth the journey!)
