I would like to try to use more jazz chords for Killing Me Softly. How do you convert basic chords to jazz alternatives? Thanks

Sorry, when I see the chords on my edit page, it comes under the right word but when I see it on UU, it's all combined at the front.

Am Dm G7 C
Strumming my pain with my fingers. singing my life with his words.
Am D G F
Killing me softly with his song. Killing me softly with his song.
C F
Telling my whole life with his words.
Bb A
Killing me softly, with his song.

Dm7 Gsus2
I heard he sang the good song.
C F
I heard he had a style.
Dm7 G
And so I came to see him,
Am
and listen for a while.
Dm7 G7
And there he was a young boy
C E7
a stranger to my eyes.

I hope you're thinking of this for season 57, duplicates are allowed!

A jazz version would probably use Am7 instead of Am, and Dm7 instead of Dm, and maybe Fmaj7 instead of F, Bbmaj7 instead of Bb. but you need to decide what sounds right. I have a version in the key of Bb minor in my copy of "The New Real Book". Here are the chords:

Bbm7 Eb9 Ab Dbmaj7
I heard he sang a good song, I heard he had a style

Bbm7 Eb9 Fm7
etc
Bbm7 Eb7 Ab C7

Fm Bbm7
Strumming my pain with his fingers

Eb Ab (Db/Ab Ab Eb7)
Singing my life with his words

Fm Bb Eb Db Ab Db Gbmaj7 F

Now that you responded, how can I not enter? :p

Ukelites always seem to pick great songs and I was inspired by them. Need to change it up a bit cuz in no way can I sing or play like them!!
