Thanks for the link. I missed the live broadcast, and was hoping they would put it up online.

The first song is called "Puffin' Billy" by Edward White. In the USA, it was used as the theme song to the long running children's morning show "Captain Kangaroo". I haven't heard that song in ages! According to Wikipedia, it was from a British stock music production library, so it was probably used for many different shows around the world.

As far as I can tell after Anarchy in The UK, the "Suite" composed of two themes... one of them is Ride of the Valkyries... and judging from the lyrics I think your second song is right: Silver Machine.
 
Haha i like the beatles reference in the title. A day in the life is one of my favorite beatles songs.
