Rattling tuner...

I was playing my Lanikai ST spruce top tenor last night when I noticed a rattling sound when I moved the uke around. It sounded sort of like I'd dropped a pick inside except I don't play uke with a pick. Nothing was loose inside the body and after listening carefully I've localized the sound to the head of the uke. I'm assuming something is rattling inside one of the closed tuners. Any ideas of what this might be and how I might fix it? I've had this uke for about a year, but this problem (my only one so far) just showed up yesterday.

Are you sure it's coming from inside the tuner? Try tightening the nuts on the tuners (and maybe screws too), sometimes those loosen and cause rattling sounds. If that's not it, I'm not sure...
