Hi Guys,
I already own two of Lori's leashes and I love them but I decided to see if I could make my own. Here's my attempt:
I went to City Farmers and bought a Rogz puppy collar and leash - total price AUD$20.00. Rogz makes some really lovely colourful pet gear - very cute!
All the hardware you need to made the removable headstock strap - clips, buckles and keepers - are already provided. You won't need to buy anything else.
I used a pair of scissors to cut it up and put it together and then used a match to seal the ends.
The advantage of making your own is (1) There are some really nice designs and colours for the straps (2) it's going to be tough, after all it's made to control a straining puppy (3) you can get the bits and pieces from any pet store.
The disadvantage is that it isn't as cheap and modular as Lori's model but I'm pretty happy with it - even with the little dog bone motif on the strap!
Cheers
Jacqueline
