Lately I've been trying so many tensions and tunings it became cheaper to get myself a box of fishing lines:

What do you use the lip balm for?The toenail clippersI love it, keeping it real folks. My uke corner and string kit is a big ball of mess. It's not a grow light (I don't have the room!) I just like the color lol

Actually I always need to have chapstick handy, weird quirk of mine.But I suppose I could also use it as nut and saddle string lubricant in a pinch since that's basically vasoline!
Sorry, was out of town so am late to the party.
Here is my string changing drawer. You can’t see the Music Nomad clippers. I also used to keep a spreadsheet that I invariably forgot to update, so now I just tear off a square from the string package, write the change date and any notes and leave it in the case. In this example I used the Savarez trebles with a UkeLogic smoothwound and also cleaned and oiled the fretboard.

Ooooo.… Just looked it up on Amazon & ordered a couple. “Pleasant vanilla scent”. Yay! Next time I change strings ….

You just need a small piece...you could do an entire uke with a 1" x 1" square. I like to protect the fretboard (painters tape would work but I use sticky notes, lol) cuz they are kinda oily feeling.

Mine were pretty grimey, so i got a set of fret erasers and these polishing papers, based on the prior post from @Wiggy . Now I might hafta get some cape cod cloths for next time!Wow, looks like new!

The glass of wine comes in handy too.
For sure Patty, although that was coffee and maybe not the best thing to swill when trying to snag a string through the sound hole.

I have a number of different stringed instruments, so my kit contains strings for guitars, banjos, ukes, dulcimers, and bouzoukis.
