Chicagoland Ukulele Meetups - North & South Suburbs

Aloha All ~ If anyone is interested in joining, I have two ongoing Ukulele meetup groups in Chicagoland and we're having our Annual Christmas/Holiday 'party' in December!

Northside - Wonderwall's Ukulele Meetup Group (formerly known as the Oak Park Ukulele Meetup Group aka The Harrison Street Ukulele Players)
Established: 2008
Where: The Tiki Terrace - Hawaiian Restaurant & Tiki Bar, 1591 Lee Street, Des Plaines, IL (just north of Chicago O'Hare Airport)
When: First Tuesday each month, 6:30 - 8:30 PM


Southside - Ukulele Suburbia!
Established: 2013
Where: Wonderwall Music Shoppe - Showroom; Vollmer Executive Center, 222 Vollmer Road, Chicago Heights, IL. (7 miles fr IL-IN stateline)
When: First Wednesday each month, 6-8 PM.

Chicago's north suburbs, Des Plaines area: Wonderwall's Ukulele Meetup Group's 7th Annual Christmas/Holiday Party!

We're continuing our holiday tradition of playing LOTS of Christmas, Holiday songs including some songs IN Hawaiian, some Beatles like "War Is Over" (John Lennon), "Ding Dong" (George Harrison), and other songs.

Songbooks are provided. There is a $5 donation. Our venue host, Tiki Terrace restaurant generously accommodates our uke group, lets us use their stage and sound system. We encourage folks to patronize them and order some of their 'ono' Hawaiian food & tropical drinks!

Chicago's south suburb, Chicago Heights and NW Indiana: Ukulele Suburbia's 1st Annual 'Mele Kalikimaka' Party!

This is the 'sister' uke group of Wonderwall's Ukulele Meetup Group which formed in January 2013. This is our first holiday get-together and it's a 'pot luck'! It is RSVP due to limited space. Aloha hammer40. A friend of mine...ukegirl (senior member)...talked about wanting to start an uke club up north. Maybe between the two of you, you'll both be able to start something.

There's the north shore ukulele society. Met them at Midwest ukefest this year. Not exactly far north burbs, but meets in Skokie 1st Sunday of every month. They're on Facebook & meetup.
