Hey Doc, what system do you recommend for self-learning languages? I got the Rosetta Stone program to try and learn German, but I feel like it's not giving me the full picture of things. The program just seems more geared towards helping out tourists on a weekend holiday.

Even if there were a website that could flawlessly translate webpages, that still wouldn't get rid of the need to learn foreign languages.

German. I started using Rosetta Stone, but I want to be able to do more then just order food and ask for directions.

It's hard to learn a language independently but IMHO you are best off with something that teaches you the grammar of the language rather than just holiday phrases. There is a free course here:
