chart for alternate fingering of common chords?

Help me out here if you can...I'm boogled by the various chord charts...what I'm looking for is a chart or tutorial that shows alternate fingerings for common uke chords.

For example, at last night's uke meetup someone mentioned that Dm7 could be played as a barre chord...at the 4th fret maybe...and F could be played as a barre chord at the 5th fret...? This was mentioned rather quickly so I'm not sure I have that right. In any event I'd like to learn some basic alternatives so I have more choices when learning strum patterns for various songs.
 
Sounds like you introduced to some 2nd/3rd position chords.
These are also known as inversions.
There are several charts and books that show these.
One of my favorites is Roy Sakuma's book of chords.
